Azerbaijani ex-speaker Rasul Guliyev resigned from the National Council and the leadership of the Open Society Party, he said in a video interview posted on Facebook.
It no longer makes sense to remain a member of the National Council, he said.
The current doings of the National Council will not yield any results and its memorandum and other documents should be collected and handed over to archive, he stressed.
"I will continue my political struggle, but I don't intend to be member of amorphous organizations. I still do not attend any meetings of the National Council," the ex-Speaker stressed.
Rasul Guliyev also said that he quit the leadership of the Open Society Party.
