Azerbaijan, Baku, April 30 /Trend, K.Zarbaliyeva/
The Supreme Court of Azerbaijan has not changed the decision to pull down the Fatimeyi Zahra Mosque, located in Baku.
The decision to pull down the Fatimeyi Zahra Mosque was made by Local Economic Court on the basis of the claim of Surakhani District Executive Power.
Today's meeting of the Supreme Court considered the complaint of the religious community about this decision. The Court did not satisfy the appeal and upheld the decision of the Local Economic Court, a source at court told Trend on April 30.
According to the decision, the land on which the mosque is located was returned to the plaintiff, a decision was made to pull down the mosque and terminate the activities of the religious community in the area.
Surakhani District Executive Power as a reason puts forward the fact that the land where the mosque is located was handed to it upon the order by the head of Baku Executive Power, and the mosque was illegally built. In this regard, the executive power asked the court to pull down the mosque and subsidiary buildings in the area.
