BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 17. A total of 11.1 million tons of cargo were transported from Italy to the ports of Türkiye from January through June 2023, Trend reports.
According to the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, ships under the Turkish flag delivered 3.1 million tons of cargo from Italy to the ports of Türkiye, while ships under the flags of other countries - 7.6 million tons.
Ships under the flag of Italy delivered 307,916 tons of cargo to the Turkish ports during the reporting period. A total of 13.1 million tons of transit cargo were transported from Italy to the ports of Türkiye from January through June 2023.
The ports of Türkiye received 33.7 million tons of cargo in June 2023.
Cargo traffic to domestic ports on ships under the Turkish flag amounted to 2.9 million tons during this period. Cargo transportation of vessels under the flags of other countries to the ports of Türkiye amounted to 30.8 million tons.
Moreover, a total of 5.9 million tons of transit cargo were transported from the Turkish ports in June 2023.
According to the ministry, Turkish ports received 194.5 million tons of cargo from January through June 2023.
Cargo acceptance by vessels under the Turkish flag amounted to 14.3 million tons from January through June 2023. And by ships under the flags of other countries, cargo transportation to the ports of Türkiye amounted to 180.1 million tons.
As many as 34.9 million tons of transit cargo were transported from the Turkish ports from January through June 2023.
