Wineries in the Kakheti region will begin to accept grapes from late August, Agriculture Minister Bakur Kvezereli said at a Georgian governmental meeting on Thursday.
"Several wineries will be ready to accept grapes from Aug. 22," the minister said.
The government began preparations for the vintage season.
As Prime Minister Nika Gilauri stated at the Georgian government's meeting, the authorities will do everything so that vintage season was successful. He also stressed that a pretty good grape yield is expected this year.
However, Gilauri said a good yield of other fruits is also expected this year.
