The actual revenue in the revenue part of Azerbaijan's state budget amounted to 3.202.3 billion manat in January-February 2013 (38.4 percent of GDP) increasing by 29.4 percent compared to the same period of 2012, the country's government told Trend today.

State budget expenditures increased by 2.2 times to 2.893.4 billion manat (34.7 percent of GDP). The budget surplus for two months amounted to 308.9 million manat, which made up 3.7 percent of GDP. It reduced by 3.8 times compared to the same period of 2012.

Some 1.119.5 billion manat (35 percent in special weight) in the structure of revenues is provided by the Ministry of Taxes. Revenues from customs duties and taxes amounted to 179.6 million manat (5.6 percent), from other sources - 1.903.2 billion manat (59.4 percent).
Tax collections increased by 6.9 percent, the customs duties - by 15.1 percent and revenues from other sources - by 49.7 percent compared to the same period of last year.

During the reporting period, 404.3 million manat were received from VAT collection, which represents 12.6 percent of total income; profit tax revenues amounted to 462.1 million manat (14.4 percent), income tax - 127.3 million manat (4.1 percent), excise tax - 93.3 million manat (2.9 percent), property tax - 17.2 million manat (0.5 percent), land tax - 4.4 million manat (0.1 percent), tax on mineral resources - 20.4 million manat (0.6 percent), and the tax on foreign economic activity - 85.2 million manat (2.7 percent).

Some 344.3 million manat of the budget (with a share of 11.9 percent) was directed to social security and protection of the population; education - 139.5 million manat (4.8 percent), health care - 45.6 million manat (1.6 percent), maintenance of the prosecution, security, law enforcement, judicial authorities - 112.4 million manat (3.9 percent), investments in the economy - 1.503.2 billion manat (51.9 percent).

Some 534.9 million manat (18.5 percent) of public expenditures was spent on payment of salaries, pensions and benefits.

The official exchange rate is 0.7846 AZN/USD on April 6.
