The efficiency of solar power plants in Iran would increase, if each of them had identification cards, said Behzad Ali Mohammadi member of Iran Renewable Energy Association, Trend reports citing IRNA.
Mohammadi said the efficiency could increase up by 25 percent, with proper management.
In particular, he spoke of the Solar Power Plant Project Management Company in Iran, that has focused on developing software to control and manage solar power plants in the country.
"Such system would manage financing, contractors and services related to the plants. It currently manages 420 solar power plants in Iran, and has created identification cards for them," he said.
"Iran's solar power potential is much bigger than that of Germany, even though Germany has used its potential to produce more solar energy," Mohammadi said.
The official indicated lack of investment in solar energy, saying the reason was the fluctuation of the USD rate and foreign currency market in Iran. despite that the Energy Ministry and the banks have been supportive of the sector.
Mohammadi noted that there are currently 9,500 solar power plants in Iran, and operating one properly is of great importance.
"If the solar power plants lose 50 percent of their proficiency they are no longer operational," he said.
