Around 1.8 million tons of products were produced in the fields of agriculture and livestock in Alborz Province of Iran, Majid Mousavi, Head of Agriculture Department of Iran’s Alborz Province, told IRNA, Trend reports.
The economic value of these goods stands at 33.9 trillion rials (approximately $809 million).
Mousavi added that 910,000 tons of these products consist of horticulture, 521,000 tons of gardening products, 453,00 of livestock, poultry, and marine products.
Iran’s Alborz Province has a surface area of 5,124 square kilometers. Of that amount, 68,000 hectares (ha) are used for agriculture, while 15,000 ha consist of woodlands, 373,000 ha of pastures, and 45,000 of desert area. 30,281 people from 6 counties of the province are employed in the agricultural sector.
