Iran exported 3.66 billion worth of goods in the ninth month of the current Iranian year (November 21 through December 20, 2020), Spokesman for the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Rouhollah Latifi said, Trend reports citing IRICA.
According to Latifi, the exports increased by 13.5 percent in terms of value in the 9th month, compared to the 8th month of the current Iranian year (October 22 through November 20).
Latifi added that however, the value of Iran's exports amounted to $3.21 billion in the 8th month.
“Iran exported 2.46 million tons of goods worth $1.07 billion to China, 1.48 million tons worth $568 million to Iraq, and 1.5 million tons worth $564 million to the UAE in the 9th month,” he said.
The spokesman noted that Iran also exported 333,000 tons of goods worth $235 million to Turkey and 526,000 tons worth $199 million to Afghanistan over the 9th month.
Latifi stressed that in total, Iran’s exports to the mentioned five countries amounted to 6.31 million tons worth $2.64 billion. This means these five countries accounted for 72 percent of Iran’s export for the 9th month in terms of value and 67 percent in terms of volume.
“Iran's trade turnover in the ninth months was $7.37 billion,” he noted.
Iran exported 85.2 million tons of goods worth $25 billion during the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 20-December 20, 2020). The exports decreased by 20 percent in terms of value and 17 percent in terms of volume, compared to the same period last Iranian year.
