Iran to increase production of worthwhile petrochemicals

Iran plans to reduce furnace oil production and reallocate resources to increase the production of petrochemicals, the Mehr News Agency reported, quoting Deputy Oil Minister Alireza Zeyghami.

Iran will export an average of 12.5 million litters of naphtha, 17.3 ml diesel, and 33.9 ml of furnace oil alongside a bunkering 300, 000 litters of diesel and 7 ml of furnace oil, per day, according to the plan for the current solar year (started on March 21, 2011).

"Iran's daily diesel production attains 90 million litters, daily. This figure will increase to 108 mld by the end of the current solar year".

Iran has reduced furnace oil production by 3.7 mld. Currently, Iran is producing 71.8 mld of furnace oil, planning to reduce this figure to 68 mld by the end of the Fifth National Development Plan (2015).

Iran plans to increase LNG production to 10.2 million litters by the end of this solar year.
