BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, July 31. The airports of Kyrgyzstan handled 20,954 flights in the first half of 2024, Manasbek Samidinov, Chairman of the Board of OJSC Manas International Airport, which operates all airports in the country, said at a press conference, Trend reports.
Samidinov specified that 70 percent of these flights were international, while 30 percent were domestic.
"We serviced 2.7 million passengers, which is an increase of 15 percent compared to the same period last year," Samidinov said.
He also noted that total revenue for the first half of the year amounted to 5.349 billion soms ($63.6 million), with a net profit of 2.865 billion soms ($34.094 million).
Manas International Airport operates 11 airports across Kyrgyzstan: five international and six regional. The international airports include Manas, Osh, Issyk-Kul, Karakol, and Batken. The remaining airports serving domestic flights are Jalal-Abad, Isfana, Karavan, Kazarman, Naryn, and Talas.
According to the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, passenger transportation in January–June 2024 reached 264.472 million people, an increase of 18.5 million people, or 7.5 percent, compared to the same period in 2023. In June 2024, passenger numbers rose by 3.7 million, or 9.3 percent, compared to June 2023 and by 37.9 percent compared to the previous month.
