BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, October 12. The volume of industrial production in Kyrgyzstan reached approximately 394 billion soms (460.8 million) from January through September 2024, which is a 4.2 percent increase compared to the same period in 2023, Trend reports.
According to the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, crucial elements propelling this expansion encompassed a remarkable surge in the output of refined petroleum products (up 1.8 times), alongside substantial advancements in the production of wooden and paper goods, as well as printing operations (up 32.5 percent).
Moreover, the food and beverage sector, along with tobacco products, saw growth of 22.6 percent. The textile and clothing industry grew by 13.2 percent, production of rubber, plastic goods, and construction materials increased by 8.8 percent, and pharmaceutical products rose by 5.9 percent.
The generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity also saw an increase of 17.3 percent, while water collection, treatment, and distribution grew by 5 percent.
Nonetheless, there were notable contractions in the output of basic metals (decreased by 6.7 percent) and chemical products (reduced by 4.2 percent).
