Tajikistan discloses amount of its total public debt

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 14. Tajikistan's Ministry of Finance has published data on the amount of its total public debt, Trend reports with reference to asiaplustj.info.

According to the Ministry, Tajikistan's total public debt as of July 1, 2022, amounted to $3.7 billion, which corresponds to 42.8 percent of the country's GDP.

As of July 1, 2022, the domestic debt amounted to $500 million, while the total external debt was $3.2 billion.

China remains Tajikistan's main external creditor, to whom the country owes approximately $1.1 billion.

In addition, there are relatively high debts to the World Bank ($357 million), the Asian Development Bank ($291 million), the International Monetary Fund ($190 million), the Islamic Development Bank ($184 million), and Eurobonds ($500 million).
