Tajikistan names top donors of humanitarian aid

DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, August 10. Tajikistan received humanitarian aid from 45 countries totaling $79.361 million from January through June 2024, Trend reports.

According to the country's Statistical Agency, China provided the largest share of this aid, accounting for 38.2 percent of the total.

Additionally, Kazakhstan contributed 18.9 percent, followed by the US at 17.7 percent, South Korea at 6 percent, Belgium at 4 percent, Russia at 3.5 percent, the Netherlands at 2.8 percent, Germany, Sweden, and Türkiye each at 1.5 percent, and India at 1.4 percent.

In comparison, Tajikistan received $94.9 million in humanitarian aid in 2023, a decrease of $29.2 million, or 23.6 percent, from 2022.

Last year, humanitarian aid came from 61 countries. The largest contributions were from China, which provided 30.6 percent of the aid, followed by the US with 26.2 percent, Belgium at 9.3 percent, Russia at 4.8 percent, Japan at 3.9 percent, India at 3 percent, and other countries.
