TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, October 15. The Russian Arnest Packaging Solutions (APS) company is set to pour $100 million into the creation of a new sanctuary for beverage aluminum can production, Trend reports via the Ministry of Investments, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan.
According to the ministry, the future plant will have a capacity of over 1.5 billion cans per year. The Special Industrial Park "Navoi Industrial Development Complex" expects to complete the construction by the autumn of 2025. The enterprise will create over 200 new jobs for highly qualified specialists.
Deputy Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade Khurram Teshabayev said that the project will be an important step in expanding Uzbekistan's exports.
"In Uzbekistan, the production of aluminum beverage packaging represents a new technology. The plan is to export more than 30 percent of the produced goods.
The implementation of this project will also serve as another example of cooperation, as the government of Uzbekistan creates favorable conditions for investments in the form of preferential tax regimes and subsidies while also physically developing infrastructure by offering foreign investors ready-to-use production sites fully compliant with specific technical requirements," emphasized the deputy minister.
Besides, CEO of APS Alexander Isayev noted that localizing production in Uzbekistan will allow the company to strengthen its position in the markets of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), Central Asia, and the Caucasus.
"The company is a leader in aluminum can production in Russia and the EAEU. Localizing production in Uzbekistan will free up export volumes produced in Russia and redirect them to meet the demand for the Russian market," Isayev pointed out.
The project will be an important example of bilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia, contributing to the strengthening of economic ties and the development of the country's industrial sector.
