BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 12. The aluminum production of Iran’s four major aluminum companies in the 11 months of the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2024, through February 18, 2025) has decreased by over 5.15 percent compared to the same period in the previous year (from March 21, 2023, through February 19, 2024), Trend reports via the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).
During this period, the four companies collectively produced 552,185 tons of aluminum ingots, a decline from the 582,200 tons produced in the previous year’s corresponding months.
The South Aluminum Corporation Company produced 222,397 tons, the Iranian Aluminium Company (IRALCO) 160,237 tons, AlMahdi Aluminum Company 138,915 tons, and Iran Alumina Company (IAC) 30,636 tons of aluminum ingots.
During the corresponding timeframe, IAC generated 212,520 metric
tons of alumina powder (aluminum oxide), indicating a 3 percent
uptick relative to the prior fiscal year.
Furthermore, IAC generated 725,335 tons of bauxite, the primary
feedstock for alumina powder, reflecting a 3 percent uptick
compared to the preceding fiscal year.
The organization experienced a substantial uptick of 35 percent in
the output metrics for aluminum hydroxide, culminating in a total
production volume of 358,485 tons.
The annual capacity for aluminum ingot production in Iran is
approximately 700,000 tons.
To note, Iran's four aluminum companies produced a total of 635,597 tons of aluminum ingots in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2023, through March 19, 2024). However, in the previous year (from March 21, 2022, through March 2023), the companies produced 632,166 tons of aluminum ingots.
