BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 3. Iran is ready to provide land plots in the port of Bandar Abbas for the construction of a Kazakh terminal, Trend reports on November 3 via the government of Kazakhstan.
During the working visit of the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan Serik Zhumangarin to Iran, the Kazakh delegation visited the port of Bandar Abbas, located on the Persian Gulf. The port is one of the largest transshipment hubs in the region with a capacity of 135 million tons per year, where transshipment is carried out using railways, road vehicles and ships.
After visiting and inspecting the main transshipment facilities and the port's storage terminal, Kazakh businessmen expressed interest in establishing their own transshipment facilities on the coast of the Persian Gulf.
The Iranian side agreed to reserve 15 hectares of land for the construction of a dry terminal in Bandar Abbas. To study this issue, a working group will be established jointly with the port authorities and Kazakh businessmen. Its participants will also explore the possibilities of building silos to increase the volume of Kazakh grain transshipment.
