BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 16. Iran is interested in cooperation with Saudi Arabia in the oil and gas sector, Iran's Deputy Oil Minister and Executive Director of the National Oil Company Iran Mohsun Khojastmehr said, Trend reports.
He believes that Iran and Saudi Arabia possess the potential to reach agreements and engage in cooperative efforts for the joint development of oil and gas fields.
Highlighting current endeavors, Khojastmehr stated that Iran is actively engaged in the development of the Farzad gas field in partnership with Saudi Arabia. Specifically, the B segment of the field is undergoing development with the assistance of Iran's Petropars.
Furthermore, Khojastmehr revealed plans for presenting a feasibility proposal for the A segment of the Farzad field through Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters.
Farzad represents a shared gas field between Iran and Saudi Arabia, with the Iranian sector divided into A and B segments.
Iran stands as the world's second-largest holder of gas reserves, boasting approximately 34 trillion cubic meters. Currently, Iran operates 22 gas fields within its territory.
