Syria's Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem met on Monday with the head of the UN observer mission, General Robert Mood, and vowed to facilitate the mission's task in supervising a fragile ceasefire in the country, the state-run news agency SANA reported.
Al-Moallem called on the mission "to be objective and professional and to relay the reality of the situation in Syria to the international community" and not to take sides in the conflict engulfing the country, dpa reported.
This is the first meeting between al-Moallem and Mood since the Norwegian general arrived in the country last month.
