Uzbekistan increased the production of ethyl alcohol by 7.1 percent to 1.53 million dal in January-March 2013 compared to the same period of last year, a source in government circles told Trend on Thursday.
According to the report, the production of vodka and other alcoholic beverages has increased by 6.2 percent - up to 3.175 million dal, wine - by 9.4 percent (up to 556,000 dal), champagne - by 4.6 percent (up to 27,200 dal) in Uzbekistan since early 2013. Brandy production remained at the same level as last year - 38,700 dal, beer production in the first quarter of this year fell by 12.1 percent - to 2.37 million dal.
According to official statistics, Uzbekistan increased production of ethyl alcohol by 10.7 percent up to 6.038 million dal, vodka and other alcoholic beverages - by 7.3 percent (up to 12,534 million dal), brandy - by 11.4 percent (up to 106,800 dal), grape wine - by 10.5 percent (up to 2.342 million dal), champagne - by 5.7 percent (up to 127,500 dal) in 2012 compared to 2011. Beer production last year fell by 20.6 percent to 18.44 million dal.
