Georgian tour operators will receive state funding, Trend reports citing Georgian media outlets.

Reportedly, the government-financed program titled "Produce in Georgia" will include the support of the development of adventure, ethnic tourism and parks.

Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Natia Turnava said that the initiative is a step forward to attract more tourists to regions and to create more jobs.

“The development of new directions in tourism, especially in the regions, will allow us to attract more tourists, as well as provide more people with jobs,” Turnava added.

According to her, the government supports small businesses involved in the development of tourism in balneological resorts.

The minister noted that under the "Produce in Georgia" program, balneological resorts have also been added to new priority areas. She noted that Georgia is very rich in places where this type of tourism can be developed.

For balneological resorts, the co-financing limit for objects of non-international brands will be from 200,000 lari ($69,101) to three million lari (over $1 million), and for international brands - six million lari (over $2 million).

At the same time, the limit of co-financing the construction of hotels in balneological resorts increased by one million lari ($345,506).

The "Produce in Georgia" program was created in the summer of 2014 to stimulate local production and offers two main incentives: financial resources and infrastructure (land, buildings, etc.). In April 2017, the agency of the same name was created, which combined all state programs aimed at promoting the business sector and economic development of the country.
