ASTANA, Kazakhstan, August 1. Over 1,340 money transfers from Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan through international money transfer systems (IMTS) were made in June 2024, Trend reports.
The data from the National Bank of Kazakhstan shows that the total volume of the above transactions amounted to 884.3 million tenge (about $1.86 million).
Thus, Azerbaijan's share in the number of transactions and the volume of remittances from Kazakhstan in June amounted to 0.7 and 1.2 percent, respectively.
In addition, about 540 money transfer transactions from Azerbaijan to Kazakhstan through IMTS were made for a total amount of 457.22 million tenge (about $963,000). Here, Azerbaijan’s share in the number of transactions and the volume of transfers amounted to 0.8 and 2.4 percent, respectively.
Meanwhile, the total number of money transfers through international money transfer systems (IMTS) in Kazakhstan amounted to 206,500 transactions worth 75.3 billion tenge (about $158 million) in June 2024. Compared to May 2024, there is a decrease in the number of transfers by 6.2 percent and in the volume of transactions by 0.6 percent.
