TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, June 15. Uzbekneftegaz has signed an agreement with China Petroleum Engineering and Construction Corporation for pre-EPC works, Trend reports.

According to Uzbekneftegaz, pre-EPC works include the development of basic designs for energy resources and general plant facilities based on documents provided by the licensor of technologies.

However, Uzbekistan has determined the transition to the production of high-octane gasoline Euro 5 and the rejection of motor gasoline AI-80 class Euro 2 through the implementation of the project of modernization of the Bukhara oil refinery.

The project envisages the production of high-octane gasoline AI-92 and AI-95 of the Euro 5 class in volumes of 60 percent and 40 percent, respectively. It is planned to implement the project in "Fast-Track" mode with parallel design and construction.

Meanwhile, Uzbekistan and the French company Axens have established cooperation on designing technological units for the modernization project of the Bukhara oil refinery.

The technological configuration of the project envisages the construction of a new naphtha hydrotreating unit with a capacity of 360,000 tons per year, an isomerization unit with a capacity of 380,000 tons per year, and selective hydrogenation of pyrolysis distillate with a capacity of 60,000 tons per year.

Furthermore, the parties signed documents on a license agreement for the use of the licensor's technologies, including personnel training and a contract for the development of the company's design documentation package.
