BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, January 14. Kyrgyzstan's GDP exceeded 1.5 trillion soms (more than $17 billion) in 2024, Trend reports via the State Statistical Committee of the country.
This GDP's growth rate amounted to 9 percent. The services sector accounted for 52.1 percent of the GDP, while industries involved in commodity production contributed 33.4 percent, and taxes on products made up 14.5 percent.
According to the statistics, industrial production in Kyrgyzstan saw a 5.5 percent increase year-on-year, construction grew by 18 percent, wholesale and retail trade rose by 18.5 percent, and agriculture expanded by 6.3 percent.
Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov said at the third People's Kurultai that the country's GDP is expected to exceed 1.8 trillion soms ($20.6 billion) in 2025.
In 2023, a historic milestone was crossed for the country's economy: GDP reached 1.2 trillion soms ($13.9 billion), with a growth rate of 6.2 percent.
