Football Fans Urged Not to Sound Unethical Slogans

Azerbaijan, Baku, 21 October / Trend corr. R.Ergun / It is difficult to prevent football fans from sounding unethical slogans at stadiums, Ramin Musayev, the President of the Azerbaijan Professional Football League (APFL) said.

"At present the whole world looks for ways to prevent fans from sounding racist and unethical slogans. Unfortunately, local fans sounded such slogans against a rival team at a match between Khazar-Lankaran and Neftchi, the last match of the Azerbaijani Premier League," Musayev told Trend on 21 October.

Khazar-Lankaran defeated Neftchi with 2:0 score in Lankaran. Fans of Khazar-Lankaran club sounded unethical slogans giants Neftchi club during the match. Such cases often happen in matches between these clubs.

To prevent fans from sounding unethical slogans is the task of the leadership of the club, Musayev said.

"The PFL can take any administrative measure on this case. However, I do not believe these measures to solve problems. Enlightenment work should be improved between leadership of the club and fans with this purpose," the PFL President said.

There are not any women amongst football fans watching matches of the Azerbaijani Premier League at stadiums because of unethical slogans, Musayev said: "As there are more fans, as it is better. However, women do not come to stadiums because of our fans' swearing."

Musayev was appointed the President of the PFL several months ago. Earlier, we was the Vice-President of Neftchi club.
