In January-October 2018, 47,100 new enterprises and organizations were created in Uzbekistan, which is 11,700 (33.2 percent) more compared to the same period in 2017, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said in a report.
As a result, the number of existing enterprises and organizations has increased by 32,100 (11.2 percent) from the beginning of the year and amounted to 318,300.
Favorable business environment is being created in the country thanks to the positive changes that are occurring in relation to the acceleration of the development of small and medium-sized businesses.
Important decisions have been made in the legislation in the sphere of state registration and accounting of business entities, as well as improving the automated system of state registration. All this serves as an important factor for the creation and development of private business by the public and foreign investors.
Enterprises and organizations in the sphere of trade accounted for 21.8 percent of the total amount, industry – 17.5 percent, construction – 8.9 percent, agriculture, forestry and fishery – 7.6 percent, accommodation and food services – 6.1 percent, transportation and storage – 4.1 percent, information and communication – 2.2 percent, health care and the provision of social services – 2.1 percent, other spheres of economic activity – 29.7 percent.
