The Iranian Central Oil Fields Company (ICOFC) has developed and started production at a gas field in 70 days.
Mehdi Fakour, the ICOFC's managing director, said the length of time needed to get the Sumar gas field operational set a record in the country's oil industry, the Iranian Students' News Agency (ISNA)
reports.
The Sumar gas field is in western Iran's Kermanshah Province.
The ICOFC's managing director added that his company's gas recovery rate, 92 percent, is the highest in Iran. The average recovery rate from Iran's gas reserves is about 71.4 percent.
