BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 11. Since the start of its commercial operations until the end of September 2024 (cut-off date: September 28, 2024), the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) has successfully transported 39.51 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas to Europe, TAP AG consortium told Trend.
“From the start of our commercial operations until the end of September (cut-off date: 28.09.2024), TAP has delivered 3.86 bcm to Greece, 2.40 bcm to Bulgaria, and 32.97 bcm to Italy,” said the consortium.
TAP transports natural gas from the giant Shah Deniz field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea to Europe. The 877 km long pipeline connects with the Trans Anatolian Pipeline (TANAP) at the Turkish-Greek border in Kipoi, crosses Greece and Albania and the Adriatic Sea, before coming ashore in Southern Italy.
TAP facilitates gas supplies to Southeastern European countries through existing and prospective interconnectors. TAP is connected to Interconnector Greece Bulgaria (IGB) which started its commercial operations in October 2022, providing Caspian gas to Bulgaria.
TAP’s shareholding is comprised of bp (20%), SOCAR (20%), Snam (20%), Fluxys (20%), Enagás (20%).
