Ashgabat hosted a meeting of the eighteenth session of the Coordinating Committee on Hydrometeorology and Pollution Monitoring of the Caspian Sea (CASPCOM) with the participation of delegations from five Caspian littoral countries - Russia, Iran, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.
According to the organizers, the delegations included the heads and specialists of the national state hydrometeorological services and public research centers, as well as experts in the field of ecology.
According to the report, the final text of the draft agreement on cooperation in the field of hydrometeorology of the Caspian Sea was coordinated at the expert level during a meeting in Ashgabat.
The Turkmen Foreign Ministry, the National Committee for Hydrometeorology under the Cabinet of Ministers and the State Enterprise for the Caspian Sea under the Turkmen President organized the event.
The international experts - coordinators of the Comprehensive Program for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring in the Caspian Sea and the regional office of the UN Environment Programme attended the forum.
