TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, October 27. Uzbekistan’s Uzbekenergotamir JSC, which is part of Uzbekistan’s Thermal Power Plants JSC, and China’s Electric Power Equipment and Technology Co. Ltd have reached an agreement on the development of the Uzbek electric power industry, Trend reports.

Within the framework of the agreement, joint work is envisaged in a number of regions of Uzbekistan on the construction and modernization of high-voltage electrical networks, construction and commissioning of new substations.

By the end of construction projects within this agreement, it will be possible to introduce modern digital technologies into the system of high-voltage electric networks of Uzbekistan, as well as create new jobs.

Earlier this month, Uzbekistan’s Uzbekhydroenergo JSC energy company and China Southern Power Grid, specializing in the construction and operation of power grids, signed an agreement on the joint development of the hydroelectric power plant construction project.

The hydroelectric power plant will be built in the Bostanlyk district of Uzbekistan’s Tashkent region. The cost of the project is estimated at $1 billion.
