TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, January 27. A new textile production project has taken off in the Mubarek district of Uzbekistan's Kashkadarya region, the nation's Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade told Trend.
The project, initiated by the Shodlik enterprise, boasts an annual production capacity of 6,000 tons of yarn. In addition to boosting the region’s textile output, the project has created 200 new jobs, contributing to local economic growth and employment opportunities.
Uzbekistan manufactured textile products worth 89.4 trillion soums ($6.8 billion) in 2024. This figure has increased by 25 percent year-on-year (71.5 trillion soums, or $5.5 billion in 2023).
The share of manufactured textile products in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 11.9 percent.
