Resumption of North Korea's nuclear reactor at Yongbyon would be a "clear violation" of UN Security Council resolutions, Deputy of Secretary General spokesman Farhan Haq announced on Thursday, ITAR-TASS reported.
According to Haq, the administrative head of the United Nations Ban Ki -moon is aware of the findings of American experts, who warned that the North Koreans have either already launched the reactor, or close to it . "If this is confirmed, it is a clear violation of Security Council resolutions", Haq warned.

He stressed that the UN Secretary General "remains deeply concerned" about the ongoing Pyongyang's nuclear program.
"He calls on North Korea to show commitment to the verifiable denuclearization of the Korean peninsula and to work towards the resumption of six-party talks," - the representative of the organization said.
Pyongyang announced the intention to resume the work of center's objects and then convert them, in the April of this year.
UN Security Council resolutions prohibit North Korea to conduct any activities related to nuclear and missile programs.
It is estimated that Yongbyon reactor created 34-36 kg of plutonium in between the years 1985-1994 and 2002. This is enough to make about a dozen warheads
