BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, September 9. Remittance inflows to Kyrgyzstan reached $256.3 million in July 2024, Trend reports, citing the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan.
According to the report, the lion's share of this came from Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries, raking in a whopping $237.3 million.
Specifically, $236.2 million came from Russia, and $400,000 came from Kazakhstan. Remittances from other countries amounted to $18.9 million.
In July 2024, remittances from Kyrgyzstan totaled $32.8 million, with $28.6 million sent to CIS countries and $4.2 million to other countries.
For the entirety of 2023, remittance inflows to Kyrgyzstan totaled $2.706 billion, a 12.3 percent decrease compared to the previous year. Remittances from Kyrgyzstan in 2023 were $561.2 million, down 2.2 times from 2022.
This resulted in a net remittance inflow of $2.144 billion for 2023.
